Cops: Virginia Father Lured Son Home, Then Shot Him

AXTON, Va. — A college student who was wounded in a shooting that killed his mother and brother told police his father lured him to the family’s house in southwest Virginia. The father later killed himself, authorities said.

Timothy Carter, 22, remained in fair condition Monday at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Authorities said the father, William Ronald Carter, shot his wife, Bonnie, 56, and their 29-year-old son William Ronald Carter Jr. early Sunday. Sheriff Lane Perry said the father shot and wounded Timothy, who was able to escape, and then killed himself before authorities arrived at the burning home.

The three bodies were discovered shortly after midnight in the basement of the home in Axton. The fire is being investigated as an arson, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

road to redemption

William Ronald Carter will be forgiven for murdering his wife and oldest son, because no matter how heinous an act against humanity you commit, you’ll will be absolved if you ask for forgiveness. How can any reasonable person actually believe you can be absolved of all your sins just by asking for forgiveness?

Sounds to me like another man-made law which allows people to act how they really want, then run and hide behind the great skirt of Christianity by saying your sorry and professing love for God. It is exactly like a little child who gets caught eating a bag of cookies, asks for forgiveness, begs Mommy or Daddy not to punish them and says it will never happen again.

When a neighbor was asked for information about William Ronald Carter the response was he was a good Christian.

“I’ve known them my whole life, even when I was in school,” she said of the family “They’ve always been such nice, Christian people. Good people.”

I am glad William Ronald Carter will enjoy eternity relaxing in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while is surviving son spends the rest of his mortal life recovering from the physical and emotional scars of his Christian father.
