The winner for November 4th, 2008 is Oprah! Congratulation to President-Elect Barack Obama on his historic victory and to Oprah Winfrey for once again proving how utterly clueless she is about her own shortcomings.
For Oprah to make light of addiction when she herself has spent an entire lifetime battling the urge for Twinkies and Ding-Dongs, it certifies her as our Morally Broke Loser of the Day. Listen for yourself at the 1:20 mark and you’ll here Ms. Winfrey comment to breast cancer survivor Robin Roberts of ABC news about how happy she was even to have the vote of a ‘drug addict‘. As if the ‘drug addict’ vote wasn’t as special as the almighty Oprah’s. Oh no! Oprah’s vote should have counted at least 277 times, or her last recorded weight.
Thirty Seven women in a detox program voting for possibly the first time in their lives, a triumphant moment for them, belittled by Oprah on national television. The reason ABC wasn’t able to immediately find Oprah was due to her canvassing the area for hot dog and fried dough vendors and when she found out none were available, well.

Im so happy someone posted this. Its impossible to find any news on this online, even though she totally ripped on recovering drug addicts…

When I heard that comment she made I saw right away just how fake she is, she pretends to care for people on her show of course its all scripted, but as soon as she is off on her own with no handler’s the truth spewed out of her mouth like vomit.

Agreed, I knew it wouldn’t be long before someone pointed out the hipocritcal comment. Oprah is all about “authenticity” now you know!

I was appalled at these words WTF!?!
I sent a letter to her via her website oprah.com and i think everyone should flood the show with the same- this is what i sent=
Love you Oprah! BUT WTF regarding comment on detoxing and drug addict votes!!!!!????

Oprah your comment regarding “being clear enough” to the detox patients and also stating “we will even take the drug addicts vote” was probably the stupidest, insensitive, close minded thing i have heard you say!
You pride yourself (as do I) on being informed and intelligent and this was borderline belligerent coming from your mouth!!! how many pomegranite martinis’ had you had last night? I am hoping that some sort of rescinding statement or apology will be coming from you. If not you have shaken my strong belief in you. Every day, as recovering alcoholics and addicts, we have to be open honest and willing to remember who we are and where we have been. I think it is your turn to be open honest and willing to admit you screwed up! We all do we are human after all.

I know this is well after the fact of these postings, but I just joined a group on fbook bc of her IDIOT comments now about only tipping 10% to a waiter/ess, etc. WTF and I am a recovering addict too and I also sent in a comment to her website- Think “God” would even bother to write back? NOPE. I will defer to how people reference her in Chicago – her name is ORCA…
