National Transportation Safety Board officials said they had recovered the cockpit voice and data recorders from Continental Connection Flight 3407. The recorders were taken to Washington for analysis.
“The crew discussed significant ice buildup, ice on the windshield and leading edge of the wings,” an NTSB spokesman said Friday.
The Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, a 74-seat turboprop, was en route from Newark, New Jersey, to Buffalo Niagara International Airport when it went down about 10:20 p.m. ET Thursday.
It directly hit a house at 6038 Long St. in Clarence Center, New York, about 7 miles from the airport.
All 49 people — 44 passengers, four crew members and an off-duty pilot — aboard the plane were killed, as was one person in the house, authorities said.
Some of the victims of the crash include:
Alison Des Forges- The senior adviser of the New York-based Human Rights Watch’s Africa Division
Beverly Eckert- Eckert was the widow of September 11 victim Sean Rooney, who died in the World Trade Center
Susan Wehle- A person who knew the 55-year-old cantor of Temple Beth Am in Williamsville, New York, described her as “a very, very spiritual person.”
Madeline Loftus- Former Buffalo State College student Madeline Loftus, 24, was returning to the school to play in a women’s hockey reunion game scheduled for Saturday
Mary Pettys- Relatives regarded Pettys, who was one of 10 siblings, as “the rock of the family.”

Where was God for these people? Was it God’s plan to take all 50 of them from this earth in a fiery, hellacious crash which also killed one person inside the home?
There is no answer.
People heeped praise on God when Captain Sullenberger piloted flight 1549 into the Hudson, but why did God not intervene on behalf of these people killed in Buffalo?
There is no answer.
There is no logical explanation which can include a divine influence because there is no rational logic in God. The people on Flight 1549 lived because of chance, luck and some skilled piloting by Captain Sullenberger. The people died on Flight 3407 because of chance, bad luck, bad weather and poor decision making.
Wake up people. We are alone and the answer isn’t found in God’s bullshit plan!
The British nurse who was suspended without pay for offering to pray for a patient’s recovery has been reinstated and will return to work in the next few days.
Caroline Petrie, an evangelical Christian from Weston-super-Mare, was subjected to disciplinary action by North Somerset Primary Care Trust even though the patient was not offended and made no complaint.
Petrie, who was supported by the Christian Legal Centre, was summoned last week to a disciplinary hearing on the charge that she had failed to demonstrate a “personal and professional commitment to equality and diversity.”
North Somerset Primary Care Trust said Thursday that it recognized Petrie, a mother of two, had been acting in the “best interests of her patients” and that nurses did not have to “set aside their faith” in the workplace and could “continue to offer high-quality care for patients while remaining committed to their beliefs.”
It also conceded that for some people prayer was an “integral part of health care and the healing process.”
Sir Patrick Cormack, the Tory MP for South Staffordshire and a committed Anglican, told Parliament that the case illustrated the “utter absurdities” of political correctness.
“This is a great victory for Petrie, and for common sense,” Andrea Williams, director of the Christian Legal Centre, said. “Today’s decision highlights the importance of being able to take personal faith into the workplace rather than being forced to leave it at the door for fear of being silenced by equality and diversity policies.”
The turnaround by the trust comes amid a tightening up by government on how far public sector workers can go in communicating their faith.
According to a document published by the Department of Health last month, any attempt by a doctor or nurse to proselytize during the course of their work is to be considered harassment or intimidation and will be subject to disciplinary procedures.

The most audacious part of this story isn’t allowing prayer in the hospital room, but rather the continued denial by the religious to understand their beliefs might not be welcome.
Take the quote by Andrea Williams, director of the Christian Legal Centre
This is a great victory for Petrie, and for common sense….Today’s decision highlights the importance of being able to take personal faith into the workplace rather than being forced to leave it at the door for fear of being silenced by equality and diversity policies.
Let me translate for you.
We don’t care much about equality, or diversity because there is only one true religion, Christianity, all non-believers are going to hell anyhow and it is our mission to spread the word of God regardless of whether other people want to be subjected to it or not.
It is the utter arrogance and blatant disrespect for other peoples beliefs by the religious which motivates me to cast a light on their intolerance for anyone, or anything which doesn’t further their fanatical agenda to peddle God.
One need look no further than the bio of Andrea Williams, director of the Christian Legal Centre to realize she no longer has faith that God exists, but has ‘fact’ that God exists.
————————————————————–
Initially specialising in Criminal and Family law, she has for many years been involved in the public arena seeking to influence Government Policy for Christian values. Andrea continues to focus on policy matters and Christian Interest cases, specifically freedom for Christians to speak truth in the public sphere, and to live according to biblical standards.

Freedom to speak truth.
I’m not sure how the Christian Legal Centre defines ‘truth’ but I’ll stick with Websters. Andrea Williams and the Christian Legal Centre are brilliant because apparently they know God and Christianity are based on fact when so many scientists have no concrete evidence and religious believers still congregate at a little place called a ‘House of Faith’.
truths (trz, trths)
1. Conformity to fact or actuality.
2. A statement proven to be or accepted as true.
3. Sincerity; integrity.

b. often Truth That which is considered to be the supreme reality and to have the ultimate meaning and value of existence.
faith (fth)
n.
1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See Synonyms at belief, trust.
3. Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one’s supporters.
4. often Faith Christianity The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God’s will.
5. The body of dogma of a religion: the Muslim faith.
6. A set of principles or beliefs.
Andrea Williams is no different than Islamic extremists who push their religious agenda through violent actions, those actions which bring intimidation and death to those who don’t believe.
Watch this video and see it through to the end, so you can view and hear for yourself how intolerant Andrea Williams is towards other beliefs and how cowardly she is declaring so outright.
It took early whales a while to fully break free of the land: For at least one species, females came back to shore to give birth, a new study suggests.
Newly described fossils of ancient whales, which include the unprecedented discovery of a pregnant female, were unearthed in the hinterlands of central Pakistan in 2000 and 2004. The findings are providing scientists with new clues about the life, times and even the possible social structure of these enigmatic creatures.
“From what we understand of cetacean evolution, you could predict that a fossil like this would be found,” says Fitzgerald. “I’ve been trying to convince myself that there’s a problem with it, but the evidence is there.” These fossils are the remains of a pregnant female, he adds.
Many such creatures, some of them apparently evolutionary dead ends, appeared in southern Asia during this era. By 30 million years ago, the modern groups of toothed and baleen whales had evolved
The features of this near-complete fossil, especially those of the tail, indicate that Maiacetus didn’t have a fluked tail like modern cetaceans, says Uhen. So, the creature probably dog-paddled its way through the water.

For all you believers in God as the creator of the universe around 6 to 7 thousand years ago, please move along, no need to cloud your already illogical view of how our world came into existence.
For those of you who like to hand pick parts of the Bible to follow, which gospels to ignore and those to accept, or those believers who are skeptical of science, please move along too.
You might want to begin refuting all other scientific advances as well. I mean why limit yourself to disbelieving scientific discoveries which refute the Bible and a divine creator? I say you throw away any prescription drugs, tear out your pacemakers, give back the organ transplant, push off the surgery you need and just follow Gods plan for you.
