A middle-aged British couple was sentenced Tuesday to one year’s hard labor in Gambia after pleading guilty to sedition in the tiny West African nation.

David Fulton, 60, and his wife Fiona, 46, who were arrested in Banjul in November, were also fined $9,400.

The couple was working as Christian missionaries in the mainly Muslim country, which sits within Senegal on Africa’s west coast. Hoping for a lenient sentence they pleaded guilty to writing e-mails which mentioned the government, but denied any criminal intent, during a court appearance on Christmas Eve.

Members of their family say that the couple is not entirely sure how they broke the law, but they believe it may have been the round robin e-mails they regularly sent to friends and people who supported their charity work.

As the judge read out the sentence, the couple and some of their friends present in court burst into tears.

Idrissa Mbai, the presiding magistrate said: “I found the offenses of the accused party to be very shocking and they have shown no respect for the country, the government and the president of the republic. I will send a clear message to the offenders.”

He said that a failure to pay the fine would result in another six-months in prison. The couple, who have three children including a two-year-old adopted daughter, have been incarcerated since their arrest a month ago because they were unable to afford the bail payment.

Well, well, well. Quite a pickle the Fulton’s find themselves in. You see, here in America Christians have the freedom to complain about how it isn’t fair to say ‘Happy Holiday’ rather than ‘Merry Christmas‘ because it infringes on their religious beliefs, but don’t pull that shit in Gambia because your ass is doing hard time. I wonder how many so called ‘Christians‘ who want to put the Christ back in Christmas would be willing to do one year hard labor for their principles? Anyone? Hello?

Jesus isn’t coming to the Fulton’s rescue and neither is God, because in Gambia, God is worshiped by people who look like this, so consider yourself lucky if your head is intact once you start the year of hard labor.

I have one final word for the Fulton’s and any other religious converts out there who are prosecuted, or have their freedom, or lives taken away for not having the common sense to realize people in third world countries don’t want Jesus shoved down their throats.

A Canadian man is urging others who may have slept with his Thai stripper ex-wife to get tested for the HIV virus after she passed it on to him, according to a report in the Toronto Sun.

“I know there were other men she slept with,” Percy Whiteman told the Sun on Sunday. “I am lucky that I was able to find out early.”

Whiteman has presented no public evidence to back up his allegations that his former wife, Suwalee Imkhong, 39, had sex with other men.

Whiteman said learned her HIV status when she fell ill in 2004. She was convicted of criminal negligence causing bodily harm for infecting Whiteman with HIV and was sentenced to three years in jail in August 2007, the Sun reported.

Imkhong came to Canada in 1995 and was a dancer at the Zanzibar Tavern in Toronto until 2004. She married Whiteman in 1997. “She should have been deported a long time ago for what she’s done to others,” Whiteman told the Sun. “I don’t think justice was fully served.”

Imkhong faces deportation for having a criminal record and not being a Canadian citizen, the newspaper reported.

“She lied and she put someone’s life at stake,” Whitman said. “I’ve gotten a life sentence and I know there are others out there.”

There is an old saying ‘You live by the sword, you die by the sword’ and the same can be said for Thailand strippers. I feel sorry for Percy, not because he contracted AIDS, but because he is a plain old dumbass.

I spent exactly 5 minutes on the Center for Disease Control website and found information about Thailand’s AIDS infection rate which confirmed what anyone with common sense would have known all along, that strippers have crotch rot. Of all the countries in the world who report their AIDS rate findings, Thailand comprised 29% of new infections whereas the US comprised 5.9%.

Moral of the story is, if you go to Thailand and bang a stripper without a full Hazmat Suit, then frankly if you get leprosy of the balls you had it coming.

Where am I? I remember posting a festive Christmas message on the 25th and then nothing. What happened? I recall cigars, music, beer, women, fire, a sheep and lots of Old Whisky River bourbon.

Funny thing is I don’t remember the motorcycle.
